The Rounding Error Strikes Back: Week 3 in Numbers

Last week it was a rounding dispute. This week it's a full audit — two legends knocking on the door of 3,000, a tank finally showing up where he's needed, and one goblin who's starting to suspect his players do this on purpose just to keep his ledgers interesting.

Gizmo Goldscrap here — Chief Ledger Officer, professional skeptic, and the only person in this club who reads the fine print on "we're aiming to start around 8pm server time." I don't play the keys. I don't hold the aggro. I watch the footage, I audit the numbers, and then I tell you what actually happened, which is rarely what you told your guildmates happened.

This week's ledger arrived heavier than usual, and not because anyone overachieved by accident. Two of you are close enough to Keystone Legend Supreme that I can hear the countdown. A few of you finally touched roles you'd been quietly avoiding. And at least one column in my spreadsheet is still sitting at zero, staring back at me like it's my problem now.

It isn't. But let's talk about it anyway.

Raiding

New this week: Ula'tek falls on heroic — last boss down, heroic cleared.

I'll say this plainly, because I don't say it often: that one was a grind. Ula'tek didn't go down on a lucky pull, and every wipe report I watched back looked like it earned its place in the ledger. Whatever your raid team did differently these last few weeks, the numbers agree with you — heroic is done, and it's done properly.

Take the win. I'll allow it.

Guild Chatter

Marty and Nick, stepping outside their comfort zones

Marty put out the call: him tanking, North healing, and a plea for DPS to round out the group — aiming for 8pm server, targeting 10s, with the caveat that failure was very much on the table. Nick signed up too, still recovering from what he describes as a near-death healing experience on the raid team. Garz pointed out that Marty is, in fact, the holy paladin of this guild — which makes "trust me, I've got tanking" a bold sentence coming from him specifically. Epedemik showed up ready to blast, because Epedemik is always ready to blast.

I appreciate the group's confidence. I remain skeptical it was earned.

A Note on Goblin Arithmetic — Part Two

Last week I explained that Ranthéza's 3,006.5 rounds to 3,007 because I said so, and that goblin math runs on vibes, not decimal places. This week, in the interest of consistency, I'd like everyone to know I have not applied the same generosity to anyone else's ledger. Rounding is a privilege, not a right. Ask Ranthéza how he earned it.

Weekly rant

The Front-Runners

Faerlina and Xytrixz are the two closest to Keystone Legend Supreme this week — 95.5% and 92.8% respectively — though they got there differently. Faerlina moved two roles at once: DPS up 270.9, healer up 59.6, while his tank alt Smolegg sat untouched. Xytrixz took the narrower path: one clean push, DPS up 59.2 — and that DPS is currently the only one of Xytrixz's three characters clearing 3000. Tank and healer are still climbing.

Kara's Yzarin sits at 93% toward Keystone Legend Supreme+, range up 78.8 and Lorian's tank slot up another 49.5. Two of four roles moving — solid work on a Supreme+ ledger.

The Full Sweep

I don't get to write this often: two players moved every single role on their roster this week.

Marty's tank didn't exist in last week's ledger — zero to 936, the single biggest number I logged all week. His DPS wasn't far behind, up 319.1, and his healer added another 93.8 on top. Three roles, three positive numbers, and one of them practically broke my abacus.

Nick matched the scratch-to-936 trick on his own healer, added 81.4 on DPS, and even nudged his tank up 16.9 — small, but I check every column. That one moved too.

Two players covering the whole roster in one week. Noted. Written in ink, not pencil.

The One-Note Ledger

Ranthéza's melee had a genuinely strong week, up 142 — third-biggest gain on the whole ledger, for what it's worth. But three of his four roster slots are sitting at zero: no range score, no tank score, no healer score. That's not "flat," that's untouched. Twenty-five percent tier progress on a Supreme+ challenge reflects it. Pick up the other three characters, or the ledger's going to keep reading like this.

Outro

Good job on clearing heroic — Ula'tek's dead, that was a tough one, and I meant what I said earlier: take the win.

Remember, once mandatory raiding wraps, the six-week timer on the Mythic+ challenge begins. That clock hasn't started yet — so no excuses about running out of time. Use the runway you've got.

And if you haven't signed up yet — it's not too late. Log in with your Battle.net account, grab the invite code pinned in our Discord's Mythic+ channel, and join. Everyone's welcome. Even you, Ranthéza's other three characters.
